The new traineo is coming and we need your help!

Dear traineo Community,

Welcome to the new traineo Blog!

This is where you'll find the traineo team sharing new developments, ideas, and thoughts relating to the traineo product and how to use it to improve your health and fitness.

Thank you all for your continued support for traineo. Since our launch 24 months ago, we've been excited to have witnessed so many people using the traineo tools and community to improve their health and fitness. I know many of you have been waiting very patiently for improvements to traineo and I'm very happy to announce that we're finally close to the release of a completely new version of traineo.

In the next few weeks we will be asking for your help in testing and suggesting new features for the new version. We understand that the value of the traineo product lies with its members so the most important part of our new ongoing product development process is you - the traineo community!

We will be using this blog to communicate the all the new developments at traineo so check back often. Please post your feedback in the form of comments or by emailing us directly using hello@traineo.com.

Thanks again for all of your help and support!

i'd like the new version to give an option other than 'time' for entering your workouts. Sure, time works for many exercises, but more some things (ab crunches, walking etc) I'd like to be able to enter a value (number of reps, steps etc). I know you can do that on your own graphs at the moment, but they are such a hassle to get in to - and they don't add to the graphs in the 'workout' area. if i have to faff around with extra pages to get to adding my workout, i'm not going to do it (as can be seen by my lack of updates on the current system).

Dayna...thanks for the excellent feedback.

It'd be great to get your feedback after you take a look at the new graphing interface currently in testing.

We'd love to have your help in testing. If you're interested please send an email over to hello@traineo.com and we'll set you up with a testing account ASAP.

We'll post something in the blog very soon to provide this to everyone else.

Thanks again!

I'd like to see the graphs also have a component where your total # of calories and time are shown, and maybe you can reach certain status levels for reaching x number of calories. Just like any good game, the first levels are easy to reach and it gets harder and harder to reach successive levels.

I would like this because right now when I have different workouts through the week of varying caloric output and whenever I do a workout that's lower than the one before, I feel like I've "lost" or "backslided" in some way. I know this is irrational and not how fitness works but I can't get over it as my immediate mental response, and it's a bit de-motivating. On the other hand, having in addition to the weekly graphs some sort of global values that always go up that you strive to push higher and higher would be much more motivating - and fun.

There's also 3-5 second lags now sometimes between when I push the button to input the data and when it shows up on the graph...sometimes even longer and you're not sure if it inputted or not. In "Traineo 2.0" I'd like to see that be instant.

It would be great if you could change your display name for starters (like remember how I asked you to change mine about two months ago and you said you would but never did)!!! Not that I'm complaining ;-)

Also little things like once you enter your location you can't delete it... on my profile i can't edit or delete my own comments either, even though there is a link.

To follow up on my first comment, take a look at what SPARQ is doing. I'm doing Nike bootcamp and you do these 4 drills and they use your times and stats minus your weight to give you a "SPARQ fitness rating." It's a quantifiable measurement of fitness other than merely weight loss that I think it would be cool if Traineo implemented.

If you could 'import' the graphs from 'My Logs' into one main 'Overall Results' window which shows the graphs you nominate from 'My Logs' plus 'workouts', 'weight' etc, the standard graphs. In other words, another tab which shows you graphs of all your regularly compiled data. Of course, with the option to choose over how long a period as you currently have for standard graphs but not for my logs.

Some sites like BodyDaemon, enable you to create your exercises, then assemble them as a routine. It's very well done and very useful. At the moment I use BD for recording and creating training programs for my clients but have to use traineo to record all their data, which requires two accounts of course. PLEASE incorporate this into your new build!! :)

Thanks for all your comments and help. We'd love your help in testing the site. Please send us an email to hello@traineo.com and our team will get back to you with testing access.

Traineo looks like a good online tool. Will have to check it out.

Are there any other tools out there that works in a similar fashion?

To stay away from this you have to list down everything that you would require including all the work costs that the work would bring about. On the off chance that you feel that you have been missing something, it wouldn't hurt on the off chance that you counsel the contractual worker that you would contract to check whether you have everything that you require incorporated into the financial plan.
